What is SEO ?

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is the process of increasing website visibility in the search engine
result pages through organic traffic. SEO increases the quality and quantity of traffic to the website
through organic means.

How does Search Engine Work?

Search Engine usually has a crawler known as “Spider” which crawls all over and gathers information
about the content which is found on the Internet. The Search Engines process and store this information
which they found in an index, which is a huge database of all the content.

Search Engine uses various algorithms to guess which website a user seeks. The google bot or spider
examines which sites link to which other sites. The leading search engines such as google, bing & yahoo
use crawlers to find pages for their algorithms search results. 

When a user performs a search for a specific keyword, the search engine crawls the keyword and
shows/index the highly relevant content, then orders the content in terms of specific factors and solves
the searcher’s query. This type of ordering the search results in terms of relevance is known as Ranking.
In conclusion,you can suppose that the higher a website is ranked, the search engine shows the most
relevant site to the query.
